Thick, fuzzy and adorably cute, these little bucket hats will warm your heart (and your little one’s head).

These little hats have a stylish shape that is part bucket hat, part top hat.  On their own they have a great sophisticated look that is just adorable on babies. Add on a flower brooch and the hat transforms into this trendy modern-day Roaring 20’s flapper style hat. Talk about personality!

CONSTRUCTION & QUALITY

These hats and brooches are made of a delightful fuzzy and soft 91% acryllic, 9% rayon chenille that has been masterfully crocheted. There is a handmade quality to these hats, and I mean that in the best sense of the word.

The top of the hat is perfectly round, and the sides are straight until they slant out slightly to form the bucket rim of the hat which can be worn flipped down for additional warmth, or folded up. A label is sewn into the inside of the hat. It has the Charlie Kat*z logo and website information, care instructions, and fabric types. The infant size is rather small and will probably fit most babies through their first year, after which the “child” size will be a better bet. The infant hat measures 6 1/2″ across the top, The sides are 4″ tall and the brim adds an additional 2″ which can be rolled up or down.

The flower brooch is made of two flower shapes, one nested on top of the other.  The flower is slightly over 4″ in diameter. It attaches to the hat using a wide broad pin. The pin is reassuringly difficult to open, but if you’re paranoid (as I am) you can put a few stitches around it “just in case”. They’re easy to snip if you want to swap out the brooch, and they make sure that your toddler is unable to open the pin (unlikely as I tested it out with a few preschoolers who couldn’t work it) The pin is hidden easily by the chenille and does not irritate the baby’s head.

COMFORT

This hat is gently stretchy and oh so soft and fuzzy. The knit design allows moisture to escape, but keeps your child’s head warm during more blustery weather.

BOTTOM LINE

This little hat is very well made, and so cute and comfy that you’ll want to steal it for yourself. Which is fine, because they also make these hats in adult sizes so you can get a matching “Mommy and Me” hats or simply pick out your own distinct style. My only wish is that Charlee Kat*z would make something for boys so that I can buy these hats for the whole family!
