These fishy foam shoes are full of character and kid-friendly features. With UV-reactive lips that change color (Fun! And functional), and footprinting soles, these little shoes are a huge hit with kids and parents.
FEATURES
These shoes have a rather long list of fun and functional features, so I’m just going to rattle them off:
An open mouth that turn your child’s toes into fish-teeth (My son calls them “YUCKY FISH SHOES! and giggles as he declares his toddler toes “TEEF!” and “TONGUE!”. The lips change color when exposed to the UV rays of the sun, reminding your child and yourself that it’s time to glop on the sunscreen; what toddler will argue when his fishy friends say it’s time for the sunscreen? It’s much more fun than cooperating with mom, afterall. Fun “footprinter” soles leave star-eyed fishy footprints in the sand or on the concrete after your child has run through puddles, encouraging your child to run around and have even more fun… A detachable and adjustable foot strap keep the shoes snugged on tight, allowing even more room for growth while keeping the shoes from getting lost. The thick contoured sole helps keep your little one’s instep supported and foot protected from hot/sharp surfaces while the inset foot area helps keep your child’s foot and ankle stable as they run and play.
AESTHETIC
The look is fishy! These fish-lips sandals all have the same color changing lips that are white indoors and that gradually change to a sort of bluish purple when exposed to UV rays. The corners of the fish lips have those connective membranes that extend across the corners, for an added cartoony flair. The fish’s eyes are large white ovals that have black pupils and huge white highlights that ive the fish a googley-eyed appearance that kids love. A shiny plastic overlay gives them additional “life”. The top of the shoe is textured with fine fish-scale pattern, the sides and bottom with a larger more scalloped pattern, and the bottom has an abstract fish with a starfish for an eye, aas well as a bubble pattern leading away from the front of the fish. The tail has the polliwalks logo.
These shoes are available in “realistic” army green and burnt orange colors as well as fun pinks, blues, and purples.
QUALITY & CONSTRUCTION
These shoes are made of a thick foam material that is very durable and fairly hard to puncture. Their sole is thicker than many other foam “clog” style shoes. The seams on the “Fish lips” shoes are very smooth and not prone to causing blisters or abrasions. The few “rough” seams (such as that on the outer rim of the fish lips) do not come in contact with your child’s feet. These are very well made!
The ankle band is a stretchy elastic band that you thread into two slots on the sides of the shoe, and that attaches to itself on each side using hook-and-loop (ie: velcro) closures. On my son’s size 7 shoes this band is about 10″ long. The closure strips are about 1″ long and they can overlap completely or just a tiny amount, adjusting the length of the strap so that it can be snug on a foot that is a full size smaller or a full size larger than the shoe size.. Obviously since the sole of the shoe does not accomodate a foot that is that much larger or smaller, you shouldn’t do that.. However, it does let your child have a comfortable shoe that is a half size different from the size that they normally wear. The band fastens to itself on the outside of the shoe, meaning that it won’t rub against your child’s foot in an uncomfortable way.
SIZING
These shoes come in sizes 5-1, and seem to be about a quarter size on the “larger” end of that sizing spectrum based on the size 7’s that I have experience with, and on size 7’s in other brands and styles.
PACKAGING
A removable adjustable heel strap comes in a little zipper pouch with an installation instruction card. To install the heel strap you insert the strap ends into slots from inside the shoe. Pull the strap ends through slots, and attach on outside of shoe using hook and loop (ie: velcro) fastener. With the foot in the shoe, adjust fit accordingly. The Polliwalks logo should face out away from your child’s foot.
EASE OF CARE
These shoes are machine-washable for extra-stinky foot moments, but they rinse clean very well and don’t seem to retain odor. At all. Just make sure you air-dry them instead of tumble-drying, since the foam might not appreciate the dryer. Besides, these are pretty much instant-drying since they’re made of closed-cell foam.
MISC NEAT DETAILS
There are some neat things about Polliwalks that just make me smile, and that I wanted to mention here: They were created by a former toy designer and long-time footwear designer that wanted to combine his two areas of expertise.. He’s succeeded!
The manufacturing process and packaging are another nice thing: All the extra foam from manufacturing is recycled. The tags and hooks? Made from recycled paper and plastic. The adhesives are environmentally friendly as well, and the shoes are completely vegan- no animal products are used in manufacturing. Lots of stuff to smile about.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the bubblegum/fuchsia firefly shoes. My daughters would love them. They’re cute and they light up. I like that they seem pretty easy to clean (ALWAYS a plus with my kids who can find dirt w/in a 2 mile radius and get it all over themselves) and easy for them to wear (no having to stop over and over again ’cause the laces won’t stay tied).
Love the Gator clogs. They’re not only unique but fun and unique – just the way to any child’s heart! The color, the shape – everything is just so good!

I love Polliwalks, and I’ve been considering a pair for my toddler since she started walking.
My daughter’s favorites would be the duck and the puppy.
If I won the giveaway, I’d either go with the orange duck or the lilac puppy. Or the furry kitty in pink, which is my personal favorite but might not totally delight my kiddo.

I am always on the hunt for something fun and unique for my neice and nephew. I dont get to spend much time with them as they live in another state, But I always like to mail them something with a hand written note so they know I an thinking of them. My neice would LOVE any of them and my nephew well he’s 5 and hes easy to please, but for sure these one way or the other are going to be on their way to them!!! Oh how fun! I was looking at these with my almost two year old son and he thought they were too funny. He kept saying “bug, bug”. SO we are saying our favorite are the blue and orange firefly. My son loves bugs and animals and I know he would get a kick out of wearing these, that is why I would love to win.

Army gators are the ones I’d get. My son is obsessed with anything alligator/crocodile, and I know he’d flip out if I won these for him!!

the black and white penguin boots are some of the cutest things i’ve ever seen. i would LOVE to see my little monkey stomping around in those! but for summer shoes, the FIsh Lips are awesome. the changing colors are super cool, as is the fact that the mouth is open so the kid’s toes can make “teef”!! these are so much more fun than generic crocs!
