Rating:

These soft furry slippers have an endearing embroidered bear face and ears, a firm but flexible sole with textured rubber grips at the toe and heel, sock-style cuffs, and a soft white inner lining.

I immediately fell in love with these slippers when I saw them online. A friend had given my son Gap’s “Brannan Bear“, and these slippers are basically Brannan Bear in in a soft cuddly slipper form. It was really cute watching my thirteen month old son compare the two and make the connection of how similar they are. He found it terribly amusing when I put the slippers on Brannan’s feet, and giggled happily when he got to wear them the first time.

EASE OF USE:

These slippers slide on very easily over your baby’s feet without requiring too much force or manipulation of the foot- something that is always a concern when no laces, zippers or velcro are present. The sock cuff which keeps them from slipping off accidentally serves the double purpose of allowing them to slide off easily without disturbing a sleeping baby.

COMFORT & QUALITY:

These slippers are soft, flexible and padded and very warm. The inner lining is made of a soft white material, and the seams are soft enough to allow your child to wear these slippers without socks. (Although for a more sensitive child socks definitely increase the comfort factor. And you will want to remove the inner tags.) The slippers are very well made with little to no exposed stitching or obvious weak points in their construction. The material is polyester so it’s not as breathable as I’d like and frequently causes my son’s feet to sweat up a storm. This is the only negative aspect of these slippers IMHO, and why I deducted a star from their rating.

TRACTION & BALANCE:

The sole is rigid enough to provide protection to tender feet, yet pliable enough to allow new walkers to balance. The rubberized sole covers most of the bottom of the slipper and provides excellent traction even on slick tiles. The rigid sole and traction allow these slippers to be worn outside as well. They’re great for quick trips outside or to the grocery store.

THINGS TO NOTE:

These slippers seem to run about a half size smaller than most of the shoes my son has worn. I’d recommend buying them a full size larger than the size that you want, otherwise you’ll find them outgrown way too early.

The rough brown slightly carpet-like texture of the fur is excellent at resisting stains and dirt. The bottom of the slipper is made of an even darker felt-like fabric that camouflages dirt even more. This is a wonderfully refreshing diversion from most slippers that have white bottoms that quickly look used and dirty. I’ve had these slippers for a month and they look brand new.
