If your baby is teething, you’ll know that babies are always looking for things to chew on. You’ll also have experienced a wide array of teethers that seem to have problems. I know I have! From the teethers that are too large for my 6 month old’s mouth, to the teethers that are too hard for him to hold onto due to a lack of an easy-to-grasp surface, to those that don’t offer any variety of surfaces- which causes him to quickly lose interest in chewing on them. The teething surfaces range from harder plastic to what feels like hard rubber, and offer a variety of textures which the baby will love to explore. The thickness of the teething toy is about the same thickness as the thumb of an adult woman, which is the perfect size for small mouths to wrap around, and my son seems to find it easy to use it for cutting even the more oddly shaped eyeteeth.
Bristle buddies seem to meet all of his requirements for a happy teething experience, with an added twist. See those little nubbly things? According to the manufacturer they massage the gums much in the same way a toothbrush would. I don’t *quite* see it, but I’m willing to give their claims the benefit of the doubt, as my son loves it.
It’s the perfect size for little hands to hold, not heavy or hard enough to cause damage when the baby over-enthusiastically bangs himself over the head with it, and while the colors are somewhat garish it’s small enough so that it doesn’t really matter so much…. And when your baby tosses it out of the stroller it’s quite hard to miss as it goes flying by.
So far this is my son’s favorite item to teethe on.
