Give-away has ended. Winners will be announced shortly & contacted via email.
Since Easter’s coming up soon, we’re going to introduce you to the bunny and chick Lubies (Luh-Bees). Lubies are these new ball-shaped fuzzy soft plush critters. These little guys are about 6″ tall (and wide, and deep since they’re round). They’re soft, fuzzy, and fun.
The bunny Lubie has soft floppy ears that have that delightful blanket-like rub-ability that kids love, four fuzzy little feet, and a fluffy plush tail. She’s a light pinkish beige. Her little pink nose and mouth are embroidered on, and her black eyes are the same tiny beads used for the entire Lubie line.
The Chick Lubie is made of yellow fuzzy material, has flappy little wings, orange feet and beak, and a pointy tail. The feet and beak are stuffed to hold shape. His eyes are the same black beads used for the other toys in the Lubie line.
Lubies are great for playing catch indoors, or for giving to toddlers going through THAT phase. You know the phase that I’m talking about. (The phase where every toy and every object becomes a projectile headed for mom’s head.)
DID YOU KNOW?
Each Lubie comes with a fun “Did you know?” factoid about the critter to whom it is attached. The little chick, for example, informs you that chicks can already feed themselves at just three days old! The factoids are short, sweet, and sure to amaze both little kids and adults alike. You can also use them as a spring-board to ask your kids questions such as “How do you think that they can do that?” or “Would you like to learn more about little chicks?” or “How old do you think humans have to be before they can feed themselves? What do you think humans eat when they’re little?” Turn it into a fun educational talk. Afterall, if a toy has a cool fact on it, then learning MUST be a good thing.. Right?
ACTIVITIES & GAMES
Lubies may not come with secret codes, but that doesn’t mean that their website doesn’t have some fun activities. This Easter you can download an “Easter Bear” coloring sheet from http://lubieland.com/activities or you can play a few online games. You just don’t have to worry about storing secret codes, passwords, and creating accounts. In fact, you can just play the games now, fall in love with the lubies, and then hunt them down at a store near you or find an internet retailer.
TAG LINE
We fell in love with the Lubies (Luh-bees) line of plush toys at Toy Fair 2009 when we saw their tagline: “No beans, no secret codes, just pure simple fun.” The makers of Lubies obviously care about their product and the quality of their product, which is refreshing when you realize how many toys on the shelves today are apparently just there “to get the company’s virtual game into the stores.” to quote one company from Toy Fair. Ugh. Just ugh. We love that the makers of Lubies actually care about their toy as a toy.
CARE & MATERIALS
The tag tells us that Lubies are made from all new material, filled with polyester fiber, and that they can be surface-cleaned only.
BOTTOM LINE
It’s a ball! It’s a stuffed animal! It’s.. It’s.. A Lubie! And I’m in love with the Lubies. Their price point, the fact that they’re safe from ages zero-on-up, and the squishable ball-shape make me a big fan. I’ve lifted my temporary ban on stuffed animals, and welcomed a few of these into our home.
GIVE-AWAY
Would you like to welcome a Lubie into YOUR home? We’re giving away some of these snuggly little guys to lucky winners. To win a Lubie respond below.
The rules:
1- Your response must contain which Lubie you’d love to win and why you chose that one. Visit http://lubieland.com to see which Lubies you can choose from. Just for fun, we are NOT giving away the chick or bunny, so any responses with those choices are automatically excluded from the contest. We like people that read rules, we’re silly like that.
2- Winners will be chosen semi-randomly based on a random number from random.org, which Lubies we have to give away. Just for fun, we’re not telling you which ones we have, just that we’re giving away four in this contest.
3- You can enter up to three times, and win up to once.
4- Spread the word for extra entries. If you ping-back to this post or tweet about it on twitter (make sure to include @gruntlings so that we can count it as an entry) we’ll give you an extra entry.
The give-away will end Friday, April 10.
After you’re done entering this give-away don’t forget to check out our other April Give-Aways for awesome give-aways from Yoplait, Lubies, KickboardUSA and more! http://gruntlings.com/give-aways Details of give-aways subject to change w/o notice.
