My favorite thing about Baby Banz is the lack of earpieces which- with infant- serve exactly one purpose: To poke out their own eyes. The velcro band and lack of sharp corners or edges of BabyBanz is wonderful.

Unfortunately, the velcro band comes with some unique problems of its own. On my son, it was constantly sliding down behind his head, which would pull the top of his sunglasses into his face and make him cry/grab the sunglasses off. When too loose, the band quickly slides down and the glasses fall off, when too tight, the glasses are pulled too close to my son’s long eyelashes and force him to close his eyes or have his eyelashes rub against the lenses every time he blinks.

Because of these two problems, the sunglasses often end up being pulled off and used as a very expensive teething toy.

I think these glasses will work fine if you have a child with shorter lashes- my friends babies all love them. But if your baby has longer lashes you might want to look into a pair of sunglasses that has earpieces, or a different shape of frame that allows for longer lashes. Try before you buy, or you too will end up with an expensive sunglass-shaped teething toy that does nothing to protect your baby’s eyes and that teaches them to pull off sunglasses- a habit that’s hard to break.

For me, a no-name pair of infant sunglasses with earpieces instead of a band ended up being the best solution, and at half the price.

I agree with you about the eyelashes thing. My daughter’s eyelashes are long and these things were useless.
