I looked high and low for a rain/weather cover for our Graco Snugride, and it wasn’t until I came across the Sasha rain cover that I found a cover that met all my needs.

The Sasha rain and weather cover is made of thick durable plastic that is still flexible and transparent enough to roll back while indoors or see through while your baby is being protected from the rain, snow, or just the cold and wind. It folds or rolls into a compact bundle for easy storage in a diaper bag, and it resists the wrinkling/creasing that one might expect of plastic. I was concerned that the air holes would let rain or snow through to the baby, but so far that hasn’t happened even in heavy rain. This cover has seen a huge amount of use, as I use it with my carseat and carseat stroller frame. It’s held up well to the wide variety of weather that New York City can throw at you, including windchills where the “feels like” temperature hovers at 9 degrees.. Heavy snowfall, and driving rain with heavy wind. During colder weather, it has been able to keep the inside temperature 5-10 degrees warmer than the outside temperature for up to 45 minutes outdoors, and block all of the wind. The weather canopy does not interfere with the proper functioning of the canopy or the carseat handle.

The only quibbles I have with this product is that the velcro is a cheaper velcro which doesn’t always hold very well, and when it rains the cover tends to fog up and obscure visibility. These issues are minor, though, when considering all the benefits of this weather cover, and the fact that it is one of the few weather covers available for car seats.

The Sasha “generic” rain cover works on Graco, Britax, Inglesina/Compass, Eddie Bauer, Baby Trend, Combi, , Peg Perego, Evenflo, and any other infant carseats with a canopy.

I consider it a “must have”, especially if you use a carseat + stroller frame.
